Why GasSpeak Is Worth Backing Your Emerging Leaders

Developing the next generation of talent is a priority across the pipeline and gas industry — but identifying the right opportunities to do so is often the challenge.

For over 30 years, the Australian Gas Industry Trust’s GasSpeak program has provided a proven pathway to accelerate the development of early-career professionals. It is not a technical course. Instead, it focuses on a capability that is increasingly critical across our sector: the ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and with influence.

Participants in GasSpeak undertake an intensive program designed to help them articulate complex ideas, engage diverse audiences, and present with impact. Through structured training, mentorship from experienced industry leaders, and the opportunity to deliver a formal presentation, delegates are challenged to step outside their comfort zone and develop skills that stay with them throughout their careers.

For employers, the value is immediate and tangible. Delegates return with greater confidence, stronger communication capability, and a broader network across the industry. These are individuals better equipped to represent their organisation, contribute to industry discussions, and take on future leadership roles.

In 2026, GasSpeak will be delivered in both Perth (21–24 June) and Canberra (8-11 November), creating more opportunities for organisations to put forward their emerging leaders.

If you have someone in your team who shows potential — someone who would benefit from developing their voice and confidence — GasSpeak is an opportunity worth supporting.
