APGA Social Media Policy

Social Media Policy

This Social Media Policy governs your behaviour, interactions, and content shared on the Australian Pipelines and Gas Association's (referred to as "APGA," "we," "our," or "us") official social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. By engaging with our social media platforms, you agree to comply with this policy.

1. Respectful and Responsible Behaviour

1.1 Be Respectful: Treat other users, APGA, and its representatives with respect and courtesy. Avoid engaging in personal attacks, offensive language, or discriminatory remarks. Do not harass, threaten, or intimidate others.

1.2 Follow Platform Rules: Comply with the terms of service, community guidelines, and policies of the social media platforms where you engage with APGA. Familiarize yourself with the platformspecific rules to ensure your behaviour aligns with their requirements.

2. Content Guidelines

2.1 Relevant and On-Topic: Share content that is relevant to the discussions and topics related to APGA and the energy industry. Avoid spamming, off-topic content, or excessive self-promotion.

2.2 Accurate and Non-Infringing: Ensure that the content you share is accurate, truthful, and does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights or privacy of any individual or entity. Give proper credit when sharing content from other sources.

2.3 Professional Tone: Maintain a professional tone when engaging with APGA's social media platforms. Constructive criticism and feedback are welcome, but ensure your comments are respectful and contribute to meaningful discussions.

3. Privacy and Confidentiality

3.1 Respect Privacy: Do not share personal or sensitive information about yourself or others on APGA's social media platforms. Respect the privacy and confidentiality of others.

3.2 APGA's Confidential Information: Do not share confidential or proprietary information about APGA or its stakeholders on social media platforms. Such information should be handled through appropriate channels and in compliance with confidentiality agreements.

4. Moderation and Content Removal

4.1 Moderator Discretion: APGA reserves the right to moderate content posted on its social media platforms. We may remove or hide comments, posts, or content that violates this Social Media Policy or the rules of the platform.

4.2 Inappropriate Content: APGA may remove or report content that is offensive, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, spam, or violates any applicable laws or regulations.

5. External Links and Endorsements

5.1 Third-Party Content: APGA's social media platforms may contain links to external websites or third-party content. APGA does not endorse or verify the accuracy, completeness, or quality of such content. Users should exercise caution and review the terms and policies of external websites before engaging with them.

5.2 Personal Endorsements: Avoid representing personal opinions or endorsements as official statements or positions of APGA. Clearly state when your views are personal and not necessarily reflective of APGA's stance.
