CODE OF PRACTICE FOR UPSTREAM PE GATHERING LINES IN THE CSG INDUSTRY

Australian Pipeline Database (APD)

A smarter way to plan around pipeline infrastructure

Australian Pipeline Database (APD)

The Australian Pipeline Database (APD), maintained by APGA in partnership with LandPartners, is a centralised spatial platform providing critical visibility of gas pipeline corridors alongside land and property boundaries.

Designed for industry, government, and regulators, the APD enables more informed planning, reduces risk, and improves coordination across all stages of infrastructure and land-use development.

Why use the APD?

Make better planning decisions

Access accurate, up-to-date spatial data that clearly identifies pipeline corridors in relation to land and property boundaries. Whether you're assessing development applications or planning new infrastructure, the APD ensures you’re working with reliable information from the outset.

Reduce risk and avoid costly conflicts

Early visibility of pipeline locations helps prevent encroachment, design conflicts, and compliance issues. The APD supports proactive risk management—before issues emerge in the field.

Improve safety outcomes

By increasing awareness of pipeline infrastructure, the APD plays a direct role in protecting assets, communities, and workers. Better visibility leads to safer planning and execution.

Work from a shared source of truth

The APD is used by local governments, state planning authorities, safety regulators, and APGA members. When all stakeholders are aligned on the same dataset, engagement becomes more efficient and decisions more consistent.

Who is it for?

The APD is a critical tool for:

  • Local government planners
  • State planning authorities
  • Safety and regulatory bodies
  • Infrastructure developers and project teams
  • Pipeline operators and APGA member organisations

If your work involves land use, infrastructure planning, or pipeline proximity, the APD provides essential insight.

A valuable benefit for APGA members

All APGA members and all levels of government receive free access to the Australian Pipeline Database.

This represents a significant value-add—providing access to a high-quality spatial platform without the cost typically associated with developing or licensing this level of data capability.

Get access

Access to the APD is provided via the LandPartners portal: https://maps.landpartners.com.au/apd/

If you are an APGA member, you can begin using the platform once registration has been verified.

If you are not yet a member, contact APGA to learn more about membership and how to gain access to the APD and other industry resources.
