Nominations are now open for the 2025 Gas Speak Colloquium, a cornerstone professional development experience for emerging talent across Australia’s gas and energy sectors. Held in Canberra from 16 to 19 November, the Colloquium is proudly sponsored by the Australian Gas Industry Trust (AGIT) and is designed to build the communication capability, confidence, and leadership potential of early-career professionals.
Now in its fourth decade, Gas Speak has helped shape the careers of many current industry leaders. It offers a practical and challenging environment where participants engage with energy policy, present to experienced mentors, and connect with peers from across the value chain—from production and transmission to research, retail, and innovation.
What Participants Gain
Delegates leave Gas Speak with a sharpened skillset and a broadened perspective. The three-day program delivers:
-
Intensive public speaking and communication coaching tailored to the energy sector
-
Expert-led workshops in messaging, storytelling, and advocacy
-
Fireside chats and mentor sessions with senior industry professionals
-
Structured presentation feedback from experienced leaders
-
A deeper understanding of Australia’s energy policy landscape
Perhaps most importantly, delegates walk away with greater self-assurance and a stronger voice—ready to participate more actively in technical, organisational, and policy conversations shaping the future of energy.
What’s Required from Delegates
Gas Speak is an immersive experience designed for professionals. Delegates are required to:
-
Prepare and deliver an 8-minute presentation during the program
-
Actively engage in workshops, discussions, and mentor sessions
-
Embrace feedback and commit to growth throughout the three days
There is no cost to participate. AGIT funds the full program, including most meals. Delegates’ employers are asked to support travel and accommodation.
