Our Committees
APGA’s Committees are the engine room of the association, fostering cooperation and collaboration across the industry. Committees bring together experts from across the industry to share information, solve common problems, develop and agree on industry positions, conduct original research, develop guidelines and code of practice that set industry benchmarks and influence regulations.
Contractors Committee
The APGA Contractors Committee brings together the contractor members of APGA to enhance and promote the safe, efficient and economically effective operations of APGA contractor member companies by promoting frank and open exchange of information on issues of mutual concern and interest such as health and safety, industrial relations, vocational education and training and echnical developments.
CSG Committee
The Coal Seam Gas Committee is a collaboration that includes a number of key players in the ndustry. Its main focus is on the development and maintenance of the APGA Code of Practice for Upstream Polyethylene Gathering Networks in the Coal Seam Gas Industry.
Pipeline Consultants Group
APGA Pipeline Consultants Group is a group of consultants, both individuals and companies, who are active in providing skills and expertise to the pipeline and gas industries. These members connect through this committee to represent the consulting sector while openly engaging in industry wide issues and opportunities.
Health, Safety and Environment Committee
The Australian pipeline industry has an enviable public safety and workplace safety record thanks to the efforts of many members over many years. Member companies regularly share experiences and learnings on safety. APGA developed a Code of Environmental Practice two decades ago which outlines best practice in the industry.
Owners Committee
APGA’s Owners Committee represents the common interests of private investment in gas transmission pipelines. The committee oversees the work of several energy policy working groups and advises the APGA Board on matters of interest.
Pipeline Corridor Committee
The Pipeline Corridor Committee brings together the different sectors of APGA and the range of interests in addressing encroachment near pipelines required to comply with AS 2885.
Pipeline Engineering Competency System Committee
The Pipeline Engineering Competency System (PECS) Committee ensures the ongoing relevance of the APGA Pipeline Engineering Competency System to the pipeline industry and the engineering profession and its continuing value to APGA members through maintaining and revising the system.
Pipeline Operations Group
The Pipeline Operations Group was formed in 1977 to combine the resources of operating companies in relation to safe pipeline design and operation. Two decades later, POG retains the primary objective of better industry and public safety, and more efficient pipeline operations.
Suppliers Forum
The APGA Suppliers Forum provides an opportunity for the association’s supplier members to collectively manage issues, voice opinions and make recommendations to the APGA Board.
Research and Standards Committee
The Research and Standards Committee raises funds from participating APGA member companies to support critical research undertaken by the Energy Pipelines Cooperative Research Centre and the Future Fuels CRC.
Womens Pipeline Forum
The Women’s Pipeline Forum (WPF) has been established to foster the participation of women in the pipeline and gas industries and to encourage opportunity and active involvement in all sectors of the industry.
Pipeline Engineer Registration
Appropriately qualified and experienced pipeline engineers can become registered as Oil and Gas Pipeline Engineers.
Young Pipelines Forum
The Young Pipeliners Forum (YPF) provides a forum for young people involved in the pipeline and gas industry working in APGA member companies to get together to exchange ideas, network, share information, discuss issues in the pipeline industry and learn from one another.
