The APGA Women in Pipelines Forum (WPF) and Young Pipeliners Forum (YPF) recently hosted a highly engaging and successful panel discussion titled *"The Future of Gas: Pathway to 2050 and Beyond"* at APA Group's Sydney office. With sponsorship from Jemena and APA Group, the event drew over 50 industry professionals and sparked thought-provoking dialogue on the future of gas.
We were privileged to have esteemed industry leaders share their insights, including Tanya Baini (GM Government and Industry Relations, APA Group), Ana Dijanosic (GM Regulation, Jemena), David Norman (CEO, Future Fuels CRC), and Philippa Minton (Craft) (Market Development and Strategy Manager – Renewable Gas, Jemena). Their perspectives on the energy transition illuminated the possibilities and challenges the gas sector faces as we look toward 2050.
The event also included a fun twist, with some of the panellists using AI-generated images to illustrate their visions of the 2050 energy mix. This interactive element added a unique visual perspective and engaged the audience in a fresh and exciting way.
Audience engagement was a highlight, with numerous questions pouring in through Slido, underscoring the keen interest in this topic. We extend our sincere gratitude to Kimberley Newman, who expertly moderated the discussion, as well as to the dedicated WPF and YPF committee members who spent months organising and planning this remarkable event.
The success of this event demonstrates the APGA community’s commitment to collaborative discussions on the future of energy. Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and supported this important dialogue on the pathway to 2050 and beyond.
