Victorian Transmission System
The Victorian Transmission System or VTS (sometimes known as the Principal Transmission System, PTS or GasNet system). The VTS consists of more than 200km of pipeline.
The VTS is owned and maintained by APA Group and operated by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) under a market-based centrally coordinated carriage system under the National Gas Rules. It transports natural gas within Victoria, supplying the Melbourne metropolitan area and country areas. It also supplies gas to NSW via the Interconnect with the Moomba Sydney Pipeline at Culcairn and to South Australia via the SEA Gas Pipeline at Port Campbell.
The VTS is subject to full regulation under the National Gas Rules.
