The Pipeline Operators Group (POG) Seminar held in Adelaide on 27 March brought together around 60 industry professionals for a focused day of technical learning and discussion.
The agenda was broad, covering a diverse range of topics relevant to those working in pipeline operations. Presentations included practical insights on managing operations during stress corrosion cracking (SCC) excavations, understanding and reducing fugitive emissions, and managing depth of cover at river crossings.
Attendees also heard updates from the Future Fuels CRC that relate to the POG’s areas of interest, as well as discussions on pipeline geo hazards, black powder characteristics, and the real cost of utility strikes in Australia. The session on landholder relationship management highlighted the importance of effective communication in ensuring safe and smooth operations.
Engagement was strong throughout the day, with attendees asking thoughtful questions and sharing their own experiences. The seminar provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange among operators, engineers, and technical staff from across the industry.
A big thank you to all presenters and participants for contributing to such a productive and informative event. The ongoing interest in these seminars reflects the value of collaboration and shared learning across the pipeline operations community.
